Wasatch County SAR rescues stranded snowbiker

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — Wasatch County Search and Rescue teams were able to assist a stranded snowbiker this weekend near Little Fork.

According to a statement from Wasatch County SAR, dispatch was notified of an overdue snowbiker at around 6:20 p.m. on January 7 after a recreating party found that one individual, a 19-year-old male, had not made it back to the Nobletts Trailhead with the rest of the group.

“SAR teams were deployed to the area to search for the snowbiker,” said a statement from Wasatch County SAR. “Shortly after this call began, the family found the snowbiker had run out of gas. They were able to pick him up in the Little South Fork Provo river drainage. The 19-year-old was in great condition.”

The rescue took two hours to complete.
