PCCF Women’s Giving Fund reaches goal of 2022 members in 2022

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Community Foundation (PCCF) announced yesterday that its Women’s Giving Fund reached its goal of growing to 2,022 members in 2022.

By adding 338 new members to its ranks last year, the Women’s Giving Fund will be able to grant substantially more money to local organizations that help women and children this year.

“In 2023, we will be granting $100,000 into the community, which is more than double what we’ve ever done before in a given year,” said Rebecca Blanchette, the development manager at the PCCF. “Last year we did $45,000, so a big jump, very exciting.”

To become a Women’s Giving Fund member for life, each woman donates at least $1,000, which can be split into monthly payments. These donations make up the fund endowed by Park City Community Foundation, and grants to local nonprofits come from the fund’s earnings in perpetuity. In 2022 the group gave a $45,000 grant to the Hope Alliance to provide vision screenings and eye care to uninsured women and children.

Since its inception in 2014, the Women’s Giving Fund has grown to $2.2 million, and the group has awarded eight grants totaling $283,000 to local organizations.

“Organizations that are supporting women plus and children within Summit County can apply for the grants,” Blanchette said, “We have made grants for early childhood education, for survivors of domestic violence, to the Children’s Justice Center, PC Tots, Holy Cross ministries for early childhood education.”

In 2022, 133 new Women’s Giving Fund memberships were donated for women who live or work in Summit County that might not be able to afford the full cost of membership to participate in the group. Group members vote on which organization they would like to present a grant to that year and participate in events hosted by the PCCF and self-organized events.

“We’re hoping to get to know our new Women’s Giving Fund members this year with more events,” Blanchette said. “We’ve started adding in 2022 more get-togethers than we have in the past.”
