Park City High Theater presents “Newsies” Nov. 17-19

PARK CITY, Utah — Originally produced on Broadway by Disney Theatrical Productions, the musical “Newsies” is now playing at the Park City High School’s Eccles Theater.

Based on the Disney Film written by Naomi White and Bob Tzudiker, the production features original music by Allan Menker with lyrics by Jack Feldman. “Newsies” the novel, was written by Harvey Fierstein.

“Newsies” is based on the real-life newsboy strike of 1899. The musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the female reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.”

Showtimes are for this week only:

  • Thursday and Friday, Nov. 17 and 18, at 7 p.m. 
  • Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. 

Adult in-person tickets are on sale for $10, and in-person student tickets are $5. Click here to purchase.

The show’s run-time is two hours and 30 minutes.
