21-year-old Salt Lake City woman dies in Moab climbing accident

MOAB, Utah — A 21-year-old woman is dead following a climbing accident at Morning Glory Arch near Moab, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
Emmalynn Thair Herbstritt was found unresponsive on Saturday, Nov. 12, at around 1:45 p.m. when authorities from multiple agencies responded to reports of a climbing accident. Herbstritt, a Salt Lake City canyoneering guide, was later pronounced dead on the scene.
The circumstances of the accident are unclear at this time.
