Police Log: icy road leads to vehicle accident, two vehicle burglaries and a traffic stop with meth seized
Sunday, October 23
With snowy conditions entering the region over the weekend, Summit County Sheriff Deputies responded to a vehicle accident where the driver lost control of his vehicle due to icy conditions on the road turning onto Painted Valley Pass.
An electrical box and a guardrail were struck by the vehicle in the accident. All patients involved in the accident did not want medical transport, and their vehicle was towed from the scene. Rocky Mountain Power is evaluating the damaged electrical box.
Two vehicle burglaries were also reported, one in Summit Park and the other on Liberty Peak Lane. Both cases involved valuables such as a wallet, rangefinder, among other items from unlocked cars.
The suspect in the burglary at Summit Park used one of the stolen credit cards at the nearby Shell gas station before the card was deactivated. Neither case has any identified suspects.
