UTAH — The U.S. Forest Service’s Salt Lake Ranger District has announced that the north end of the Silver Lake Boardwalk to the parking lot will be closed from September 23 through December 1. The closure will allow construction crews to remove and replace parts of the boardwalk and use the north side of the parking lot for staging.
In addition, the main entrance near the visitor center, the gateway to where the north and south sections of the boardwalk split, will also be closed. The south arm of the boardwalk will be closed 50 feet pasted the gateway, while the north arm will be closed all the way to the dirt portion of the trail.
Hikers can still enter the south arm of the boardwalk through the picnic trail near the public restroom.

Like many transplants to Utah, Kevin started his journey to Park City as a ski instructor in 2014 and fell in love with the mountains enough to stay. A skier since the age of 2 and a half, he still gets excited about carving turns down the slopes and hopping into the powder on snow days. Kevin's passion for storytelling and photography led him to a second bachelor's degree focused on communications and fine art photography from the University of Utah. Paired with his first undergrad in ecology from Oklahoma State University, Kevin particularly enjoys writing environmental and nature stories. In his spare time, you can usually find him in his jeep looking for wildlife and landscapes to photograph.
