LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) announced on Tuesday that Adam Aron, Chairman of the Board and CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc., has become a member of the USA Bobsled/Skeleton Foundation (USABSF). The foundation raises funds to support the needs of USA Bobsled Skeleton Federation (USABS) athletes, who depend on private donations and sponsorships to compete.
Aron has held various roles with companies such as World Leisure Partners, Apollo Management L.P., Vail Resorts, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, United Airlines, and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. He also serves on the board of directors of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Ltd. and the Philadelphia 76ers.
“As the former Chairman and CEO of Vail Resorts for a decade, I have a longstanding connection to winter sports. And over the course of my life, I personally have attended five different Olympiads, and in one way or another helped the Olympic movement prepare for four more,” Aron said in a statement.
“I have experienced firsthand how meaningful it is for the world to come together for the Olympic Games. Therefore, I am delighted to support the USA Bobsled/Skeleton Foundation as it helps world-class athletes represent the United States at the Olympics, the greatest world stage of them all.”
Aron was named twice to the Ad Age 100, which highlights the 100 best marketing executives in the U.S., and was named by Travel Weekly magazine as one of the 33 most influential executives in travel and tourism worldwide.
“We are excited to welcome Adam to our foundation,” said USABS CEO Aron McGuire in a statement. “He’s created multiple award-winning marketing programs throughout his career and is one of the top executives in the world. We are fortunate to have Adam as a part of the team.”
