From the PC Golf Tournament to the World Deaf Golf Championships

PARK CITY, Utah — Melissa Stockton is on the move. She’s on the move from working as a P.E. teacher in the Park City School District to retirement. She’s on the move from living in Park City to living in The Villages, Florida. And She’s on the move from competing in the Park City Golf Club Tournament at the Park City Golf Course to competing in the World Deaf Golf Championships in Hawaii.

As big as her smile got when she told TownLift about joining her Florida community to play golf full-time, her emotions got the best of her, shedding a tear when asked about leaving her Utah community.

“I just want to say to everyone I worked with at the Park City School District that I really appreciate each and every one of them, especially the staff at Trailside Elementary who gave me a wonderful send-off.”

Her husband works for Home Depot at the Park City Store making their transition a simple switch to their new local Florida store.

The World Deaf Golf Championships is in October on the Island of Kauai where 16 countries will compete.
