Backcountry grows to seven retail stores

PARK CITY, Utah — With the launch of their latest Bozeman store, Backcountry has now opened new retail stores in 3 cities this year, Seattle, Bozeman, and Chicago.

Since last year, when Backcountry started a retail shop in Park City, near their corporate headquarters in Redstone, the traditionally online retailer has grown its brick and mortar locations to a total of seven. For a company that has been at the forefront of ‘Direct to Consumer’ (DTC) retail for over two decades, it’s a change of pace to now operate actual stores, in actual locations.

Backcountry has two Utah retail shops, one in West Valley (at 2607 S. 3200 W., West Valley City, Utah) and the Backcountry Park City retail space at 1678 Redstone Center Dr., Ste 210, in Kimball Junction.

Backcountry’s recent merger with Marty’s Ski & Board Shop last winter, allowed Backcountry to offer a plethora of options that couldn’t exist in an online retail environment. Now, the retail experience includes full-service ski/snowboard tuning and repair, along with ski and bike demos/rentals.

Both Marty’s and the Backcountry retails shop are located in Kimball Junction, across the street from each other. The Backcountry retail experience also allows for customers to order online and pick up in-store. So, any Park City winter visitors can purchase last minute online and pick up in Park City.
