Marty’s Ski Shop opens again after merger with Backcountry

PARK CITY, Utah — Marty’s Ski & Board Shop in the Redstone district of Kimball Junction is open again this winter after a successful merger with outdoor retailer and neighbor Backcountry — under the new name Marty’s MTN Shop.

Backcountry announced the venture earlier this year, saying that Marty’s founder Chip Bullen would remain involved in the business as a consultant. The shop offers full-service ski/snowboard tuning and repair, along with rentals and gear.

“When I first learned Backcountry was opening a retail store across the street from Marty’s, I was obviously concerned about the potential impacts it would have on my business and customers,” Bullen said. “Once I got to know the brand and the people behind it, I realized we were both dedicated to creating a best-in-class customer experience and a positive impact on the Park City community. I’m excited to see what we will accomplish together.”

The store is currently open from 8 am to 8 pm. Tuning & repair menu.
