New Backcountry retail store opening in Park City

PARK CITY, Utah. — Tomorrow’s the big day. Starting on May 1st, Parkites and visitors will have a new shopping option for their outdoor adventure gear and apparel. Backcountry.com has been at the fingertips of locals for years but now they can walk right into the new retail store and head right to the mountains with the goods.

The new digs are located in Redstone in Kimball Junction. Prior to this store, Utahn’s had the option to go to West Valley City in the Salt Lake Valley for a brick-and-mortar experience of Backcountry shopping.

Backcountry.com was founded by former Olympic ski jumper, Jim Holland and John Bresee in 1996. The original offices were in a storage unit in Heber City. Formerly referred to as the BackcountryStore.com, it purchased the URL Backcountry.com in 2004 from a Lake Tahoe business. Traditionally, the business has always been run online. This new retail shop gives the company’s hometown a great resource for further delving into the outdoors.

From snowboards to car racks for snowboards to clothing for men, women, and kids to tents and bikes, it’s not difficult to find whatever people are looking for between the new store and the stalwart Backcountry.com.
