Much-needed rain likely on the way

PARK CITY, Utah — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City reported that they are expecting a “monsoonal moisture push mid to late week.”

Precipitation isn’t forecasted in Park City until late Thursday, with a possibility of showers throughout the weekend.

On Saturday there is a chance for thunderstorms after noon, however, Savor the Summit attendees can hope that by night things will be dry.

Additionally, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting above-average precipitation across the four corners region later this month:

Sunny, with a high near 74. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon.

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Southeast wind 8 to 11 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
