Several Parkites nominated to U.S. Freestyle Ski Team

PARK CITY, Utah. — On Wednesday U.S. Ski & Snowboard announced its U.S. Freestyle Ski Team nominations for the 2022-23 competition season, 12 of which included athletes with ties to Park City. Overall, 26 aerials and moguls athletes have been nominated to the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team.

“The athletes nominated to the 2022-23 U.S. Freestyle Ski Team represent an exciting mix of Olympic medalists, accomplished veterans, and new rookie blood,” said Matt Gnoza, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Development Director. “We embark on this new Olympic quad cycle with a ton of momentum and I look forward to watching our aerials and moguls skiers continue to be leaders in their disciplines both on and off the hill.”

With a combination of athletes who call Park City home, in addition to several who train there, the 2022-23 Freestyle Ski Team is highlighted by several recent Olympians such as Cole McDonald and Nick Page.

The 2022-23 FIS Freestyle World Cup calendar is expected to be confirmed by the International Ski Federation (FIS) later this month. The 2023 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Championships are scheduled for Feb. 20 – March 3 in Bakuriani, Georgia.

Each athlete accepting the nomination to the U.S. Ski Team receives world-class program support, along with access to the USANA Center of Excellence, as well as athletic benefits including elite coaching, sport science, sports medicine, high performance staff, and education opportunities.

An official U.S. Freestyle Ski Team announcement will be made in the fall.
