Ski Utah is now Climate Neutral Certified

SALT LAKE CITY — Ski Utah announced on Friday that it is now officially Climate Neutral Certified for 2021 emissions.

When a brand gets certified, it achieves zero net carbon emissions for all of the carbon it creates while making and delivering its products or services for a year.

“Ski Utah is proud to be helping to offset global climate change,” said president of Ski Utah, Nathan Rafferty. “We are able to make this measurable change thanks to the dedication of our Ski Utah members and resort partners, who elected to put the environment ahead of profits.”

The organization said it will continue to make the carbon-neutral target a priority in the future.

“Ski Utah is thrilled to join many of its resorts in committing to sustainability initiatives,” a press release said.

“Other sustainability initiatives from Utah resorts include: Boyne Resorts’ ForeverProject: a commitment to a goal of reducing carbon emissions from North American operations to net zero by 2030, POWDR’s Play Forever initiative, Alta Ski Area’s commitment to purchasing Renewable Energy Credits and Vail Resorts’ EpicPromise, which includes goals of net zero emissions by 2030 and zero waste to landfill by 2030.”
