Discarded cigarettes cause fire in landscaping wood chips on Ute Blvd.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Park City Fire District (PCFD) was dispatched on Wednesday to flames in the landscaping wood chips on Ute Blvd. in Kimball Junction.

PCFD said the fire was caused by discarded cigarettes.

“This is a great reminder to please remember with drought conditions, fuels for wildfire can dry out and become more flammable,” PCFD said.

“Drought can also increase the probability of ignition and the rate in which fire spreads.”
