West Valley man with $45,000 warrant arrested in Park City

PARK CITY — After stopping a Uhaul truck for speeding on I-80 near mile marker 143, officers discovered two men with multiple outstanding warrants, arrested them on scene and booked them into the Summit County Jail.

During the traffic stop, officers became suspicious after the driver stated he was on his way to a Summit County residence to help his uncle move but did not know the address. However, the passenger then stated that he and the driver were meeting a friend who was driving to Park City to get a ride to Salt Lake but did not know the location.

Upon conducting a records check, the driver was revealed to be a 34-year-old West Valley man with a $40,000 for burglary warrant from SLC and a Retail theft warrant for $5,000 for his arrest. The passenger, a 44-year-old Springville, Utah man, had numerous misdemeanor warrants and two loaded syringes that tested positive for heroin and fentanyl. A search of the vehicle revealed a slingshot in the center console and two sets of gloves.

Both suspects were then arrested and booked into Summit County Jail.
