UDOT construction on US 40 will run through the fall

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is set to begin construction this week on two bridges crossing the Provo River along US 40 north of Heber City.

During the first phase, crews will construct temporary crossover lanes to shift traffic to the other side of the highway so workers can begin bridge deck replacement and pavement repairs.

The work will require single-lane closures during non-peak traffic hours. Speed limits will be reduced and drivers should expect moderate to heavy delays at times.

The project’s goal is to lengthen the life of the bridge and roadway and provide a smooth surface.

The traffic crossover will go into effect in mid-April.
