PCEF’s Running With Ed race registration opens today

PARK CITY, Utah — Registration opens today for 2022’s Running With Ed (RWE). Race day is Saturday, May 21.

RWE is a celebratory relay race fundraiser for the Park City Education Foundation (PCEF), raising money for Park City teachers, students, and schools. For the last eight years, it’s been voted ‘Park City’s Favorite Fundraiser and Sporting Event.’

Participants run from party to party with family, friends, and neighbors.

The 26.4-mile race is comprised of 8-legs. The shortest leg is 1.3 miles and the longest is 5.7 miles. The course will start and finish at the Basin Rec Fieldhouse, stopping at six Park City School District (PCSD) schools, each of which will compete to create the most energetic and entertaining exchange station. This year’s course will also bring back the famed climb up the Utah Olympic Park ski jump stairs. As always, this course will take runners across the varied terrain, single track, crushed gravel paths, and paved trails.

Jennifer Billow, PCEF Associate Director/Communications and Development, said to TownLift,

“It’s crystal clear – our schools and educators are essential for successful families, successful businesses, and a successful community.  Our teachers and schools have given so much to us – let’s give back to show our gratitude.”

This year’s event sponsors include:

During this past year, PCEF has funded more than $1,300,000 in programs that teachers and students need, including Emergency Express Grants, Educator Wellness Initiatives, and financial relief for families of students and PCSD employees.

Support of PCEF through RWE registrations and donations provides a critical $320,000 for PCEF programs. People don’t have to run to donate. Register and donate here.

Costumes are encouraged.
