NCAA ski championships delayed because of too much pow

PARK CITY, Utah — After a considerable amount of snow and powder dumped overnight, the NCAA’s Skiing National Championship Alpine races at Park City Mountain Resort have been delayed to Thursday due to the slope conditions.

Originally scheduled for early Wednesday morning, the men’s and women’s Alpine events were pushed back 30 minutes with hopes that the conditions would clear up and the races would proceed as planned. However, after further consideration, the conditions were deemed unsatisfactory and the races have been rescheduled for Thursday morning.

With no races having taken place, the first Giant Slalom will begin on Thursday, March 10 at 9 a.m. at Park City Mountain Resort. Meanwhile, the Nordic events will also take place on Thursday as originally scheduled at Soldier Hollow with the women’s 5K Classical at 10 a.m. and the men’s 10K Classical at noon.
