Spirit Airlines is coming to Salt Lake City International Airport

SALT LAKE CITY — Spirit Airlines will begin flights to and from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) on May 26.

Spirit will offer double daily flights from SLC to Las Vegas, along with daily flights to Los Angeles and Orlando. There is the potential that flights could be added in the future.

This is the first airline addition to SLC since 2014, when Alaska Airlines began flights.

On Tuesday, Spirit’s vice president of network planning, John Kirby, said the airline will hire 40 people for their Utah operations. Kirby said the company plans to increase its number of aircraft from 170 to over 300 by 2026.

A job fair for pilots and flight attendants will be held in Salt Lake City on Feb. 8.

SLC is Spirit’s 53rd market in the continental United States, and 86th in the world.
