Summit County celebrates National 4-H Week
Summit County, Utah — October 4 – 9 is National 4-H Week, a perfect chance to check in on the Summit County 4H Club. This year’s gymkhana club, livestock sale, gardening camp, and companion-animal series has wrapped up heading into the next season, however, there are always events on the horizon like joining the shooting-sports club a place where many shooting-sports Olympians get their start.
Via online courses, people can learn about shooting safety, pesticide information, trail stewardship, or get an outdoor industry association sustainable product design and supply chain certificate.
Other class offerings include water conservation as well as profit and sustainability strategies for ranchers.
Summit County 4-H is administered under Utah State University (USU) and is one of 38 USU County Extension offices throughout the state.
“4-H inspires the next generation of leaders, inventors, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers. We are the nation’s largest Positive Youth Development Program and offer a wide variety of programs, projects, contests and events from livestock to sewing, and leadership to robotics,” 4H writes.
