Parker Manson

October being Cancer Awareness Month is keeping the community of Park City focussed on local Parker Manson.
“Parker Manson, a purple-loving 5th grader at Parley’s Park Elementary, was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue sarcoma of the abdomen in the summer of 2020. She received this diagnosis during the first month of moving to Park City, and since then she has had four surgeries and multiple rounds of chemotherapy.  She is currently being treated at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and will be undergoing radiation treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC the month of October,” said Matt Navarro with Park City Youth Football.
The Park City football community has not only planned outward activities for this weekend to raise money for cancer awareness, but it has also taken the time and energy inward all week to have administrators, coaches, and athletes discuss whom cancer has touched in their own families and honor them by creating banners in their names.

The banners will be displayed at the games on Friday and on Saturday along with team-issued purple socks and purple helmet decals.
