Charges filed in Highland Estates murder

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — On Thursday, the Summit County Attorney’s Office filed charges in the Third District Court against Highland Estates resident James Kip Ramsdell.

Ramsdell is facing charges of criminal homicide, murder, and a first-degree felony in connection with the shooting death of his roommate and tenant John Krieg.

Mr. Ramsdell was arrested and is being held without bail in the Summit County Jail.

“The public should remember that these are allegations, and that Mr. Ramsdell is presumed innocent of these charges until proven guilty in a court of law,” Summit County Attorney Margaret Olson.
