SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A 61-year-old Park City resident confessed to police after getting caught on camera keying several vehicles at the East Canyon Creek trailhead near Jeremy Ranch Elementary on Saturday, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

The man told the sheriff’s office that he was upset that mountain bikers were causing damage to trails and making a “muddy mess.”

The sheriff’s office has made contact with the three vehicle owners. The suspect caused damage to a 2019 Honda Odyssey, a 2018 Tesla Model X, and a 2021 Ford F-150. All three vehicle owners are getting damage estimates and will provide them to deputies.
