Director of Snow Safety at Snowbird, Todd Greenfield, passes away

LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah — Snowbird lost a vital member of their team this month, Director of Snow Safety Todd Greenfield.

Greenfield came to Snowbird in 1996 after serving ten years as a wildland firefighter with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

He was a well-respected member of the Avalanche Artillery Users of North America Committee (AAUNAC) where he achieved the level of Master Gunner.

“Sending peace, compassion, strength and love from the winds of Hidden Peak to whatever space you may find yourself today, and especially to Todd’s friends & family,” Snowbird said in a statement.

Greenfield played a vital role in keeping Little Cottonwood Canyon accessible and safe during the winter months.
