Calls for service: Police and sheriff logs
Stolen jewelry and stolen identity highlight the calls for service made to the Park City Police Department (PCPD) and the Summit County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD) for the week of July 5 – 11.
MONDAY:
PCPD – Department of Natural Resources (DNR) assisted a response to the Park City Golf Course regarding a moose. Officers were able to direct the moose west into the wooded area.
TUESDAY:
PCPD – Multiple calls came in to officers from residents on Daly Ave that neighbors were having encounters with an aggressive door-to-door solicitor selling magazines. The solicitor was arrested for operating without a business license.
WEDNESDAY:
PCPD – Officers noticed a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Park Ave. and Deer Valley Dr. was causing confusion. The City engineer was contacted as well as UDOT. A solution was implemented.
SCSD – Deputies responded via phone to a complaint from a home in Summit County. The caller stated that someone had obtained her social security number and applied for unemployment. She said that the unemployment agency saw that she was self-employed and that the transaction was fraudulent and immediately cancelled the request and contacted her. She was provided with the Attorney General’s Identity Theft website for access to identity theft resources. No suspect information is available at this time.
THURSDAY:
PCPD – Officers arrested one underage, male driver for DUI after the vehicle was observed driving recklessly through a construction zone. An underage adult passenger was found to be intoxicated during the investigation and was screened for alcohol charges.
FRIDAY:
SCSD – Off of Landmark Dr., a call came in that a Specialized mountain bicycle in the back of the man who called’s truck was stolen overnight. A deputy gathered video surveillance and observed a man take the bike at approximately 2:00. There are no current leads or suspect info at this time.
SATURDAY:
PCPD – A caller notified officers that they had found a credit card on Main St. and wants to turn it over to the authorities.
SUNDAY:
PCPD – Officers responded to a parked car on Park Ave. for a dog locked inside, panting heavily with the windows rolled down only slightly.
