Utah Avalanche Center raising funds to raise awareness

PARK CITY, Utah. — As a historically deadly avalanche season nears its finish, the Utah Avalanche Center announced today the launch of its Spring Awareness Campaign, which will focus on raising funds for vital initiatives aimed at educating, protecting, and empowering the backcountry community.

The UAC’s goals:

  • Adding new educational courses and increasing the number of existing classes offered
  • Expanding avalanche awareness events
  • Building out a new UAC Avalanche Education Center

The campaign will run for two weeks, welcoming Spring midway through. The organization’s goals are in response to growing demand from backcountry enthusiasts of all experience levels to learn how to safely recreate in the wild.

“Any amount you can donate will help us toward our $75,000 goal and make this vision a reality. You can also support the UAC by sharing this campaign and letting your network know why our work is important to you,” the UAC posted on social media today.

Donations of $100 or more during the campaign will garner a special edition UAC 40th Anniversary Black Rose pin to commemorate the 2020-2021 season.
