Salt Lake County Man Dies in Summit Park Accident

PARK CITY, Utah. — The Summit County Sheriffs office has confirmed 44-year-old Brian Thomas of Cottonwood Heights died after being pinned between a van, snowbank, and a tree on Saint Moritz Strasse in Summit Park on Feb 3. Park City Fire District responded and tried to resuscitate the victim of the accident, but according to a statement by the Summit County Sheriff’s Department, he died from his injuries.

The Sheriff’s Dept. shared that a Summit County Public Works snowplow operator witnessed the accident, detailing that the man got out of his cargo van and it started to slide down the icy roadway. He went behind the van to try and stop the vehicle but was run over and subsequently pinned.

“The incident was nothing short of a weather-related tragic accident,” reads the statement from the Sheriff’s Dept.
