At some point in the 1980s, there was a fun fad for kids’ snow gloves. Freezy Freakies gloves revolutionized elementary school fashion trends in the 80s. These winter gloves were all the rage. If you had a pair of these gloves, then you know. If you’re just now learning about this fashion trend, then it may be a little hard to understand.

The short of it is that Freezy Freakies gloves appear to be like any other glove and when the temperature outside drops to a certain degree, an additional image appears on the glove. The historical significance of these apparel items is quite underrated, which is why it could be a ‘cult classic’ fashion trend from the 80s.

The gloves have been revitalized and are now for sale online. The whole intiative started with a Kickstarter campaign a few years ago. It’s grown in momentum and now Freezy Freakies gloves are a top seller for holiday gifts, especially for sledders, skiers, shredders, and snowboarders.
