MINERS 9 artists invite community to Miners Hospital

PARK CITY, Utah — Meet local artists this Memorial Day weekend at the Miners Hospital Community Center, 1354 Park Avenue in Park City. The art exhibit will be open Friday, May 24, 2 – 7 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 12 – 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 26, 12 – 4 p.m. with the artists present.

Independent artists present their art in a historic setting

The MINERS 9 Art Exhibit is an alternative, three-day, pop-up show on the last weekend of each month in the Miners Hospital Community Center at the City Park. Nine independent artists from a variety of mediums are coming together this weekend for another exceptional exhibit.

The community and our guests are invited to talk to the artists directly: demonstrating their skills, explaining their images, defining their art, telling their unique story, and inspiring creativity.  This intimate setting of our treasured historic building enables the RESIDENTS and our GUESTS to spend casual relaxed moments absorbing the joy of art.

May artists dazzle with their variety

This month meet painters Sherry Elshaug, James Burt and Peg Bodell. You will see styles varying from Sherry Elshaug’s boundary-pushing techniques to James Burt’s acrylic pours and Peg Bodell’s dyes and wax resist processes. Peg Bodell is the driving force behind the Miners 9 art exhibits and ensures the artists represent a wide variety of mediums.

Jim Sheeran strives to make the most imaginative bird houses created from found objects. Joe Cordery presents unique and engaging hand-built, carved and altered clay forms and Steven Johnson creates silver designs combined with rare, exotic and dinosaur bone stones.

Richard Pick’s photography presents moving images of nature while capturing nature’s colors, textures, emotions and brilliance in one magic second. Mary Whitesides captures digital images from around the world with a passion for eye-catching color, emotional human moments and rare landscapes.
