SNAPPED: Park City raises a glass for 10th annual Shot Ski

The Main Street tradition marked a decade of whiskey, community fundraising, and friendly rivalry with Breckenridge.
PARK CITY, Utah — Historic Main Street filled with revelers Saturday as Park City celebrated the 10th annual Park City Shot Ski, bringing the community together for one of the city’s most recognizable fall traditions.
Participants lined Main Street on Oct. 10 behind a long chain of connected skis before raising their glasses together at 2 p.m. High West Distillery provided whiskey for the event, with apple juice available as a nonalcoholic option.

Presented by High West Distillery and organized by the Park City Sunrise Rotary Club, the annual event raises money for the club’s Community Grants program, which supports nonprofit organizations throughout the area.

This year, organizers set their sights on 1,430 simultaneous shots, enough to surpass Breckenridge, Colorado, which entered the weekend holding the record with 1,420 participants.

The friendly rivalry between the two ski towns has stretched across several years. Park City reclaimed the title in October 2025 with 1,410 participants before Breckenridge edged ahead later that winter.

Saturday’s event marked 10 years since the Park City Shot Ski began in 2016. What started as a community gathering inspired by Breckenridge has grown into an annual Main Street spectacle combining a little ski-town competition with fundraising for local organizations.

Last year’s event raised $50,000 for Park City Sunrise Rotary’s Community Grants program, benefiting 39 organizations.
