Park City Miners hold off rival Wasatch 28-27 in Friday night thriller

HEBER CITY, Utah — The Park City High School varsity boys football team won a nail-biter of an away game against their rivals, the Wasatch High Wasps on Friday night in Heber City with a final score of 28-27.

The Miners are now sitting 4 and 4, third in the region.

Brogan Price, a senior for the Miners, caught an 8-yard touchdown along with a 16-yarder, and junior Reid McCurdy scored another with a 21-yard run-in. Senior quarterback Josh Hofer, who’d thrown the previous two TDs, ran one in himself from the one-yard-line, making it 28-21.

Miners kicker, junior Will Hladon, made all of his extra points.

Less than 30-seconds remained in the exciting game when the Wasps scored their last TD. Then, Wasatch’s two-point conversion attempt was thwarted by a strong, successful Miners defense.

Next up for the Miners is an away game, Thursday night against Timpanogos High in Orem.
