I-80 lane closures in Parleys Canyon may extend through Friday morning due to emergency pothole repair

PARLEYS CANYON, Utah — Drivers traveling Interstate 80 through Parleys Canyon should expect delays Thursday as crews conduct emergency maintenance to repair a large pothole under the median.

The left lane is closed in both the eastbound and westbound directions at milepost 132, according to UDOT.

Utah Highway Patrol said the road damage required crews to perform a more extensive repair than usual.

“It was just a really bad pothole that required a little more work to repair than a usual quick asphalt patch,” Lt. Zach Randall with Utah Highway Patrol said.

The lane closures are expected to remain in place at least through Thursday and possibly into Friday morning, according to Randall.

Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route if possible and allow extra time for travel.
