PARK CITY, Utah — Summit County residents can once again kick off the annual Kimball Arts Festival with free admission during Locals Night, returning Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Historic Main Street.
The annual community celebration offers locals the opportunity to experience one of Park City’s signature summer events before the festival’s busiest weekend crowds. While admission is free for Summit County residents on Friday evening, advance registration is required to receive a complimentary ticket.
Now in its 57th year, the Kimball Arts Festival will feature nearly 200 jury-selected artists showcasing original work across 13 artistic mediums, from painting and sculpture to photography, jewelry, ceramics, and mixed media. The festival also includes live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and artist demonstrations throughout the weekend.
The three-day festival runs Aug. 7-9, with Friday hours from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Historic Main Street. General admission is required on Saturday and Sunday, while children ages 5 and younger are admitted free all weekend.
Proceeds from the festival support the Kimball Art Center’s year-round mission of providing free exhibitions, arts education, and community programming throughout Summit County. The festival, founded by local artists in 1969, has grown into one of the nation’s top-ranked juried art festivals and remains one of Park City’s premier cultural events.
Festival organizers encourage attendees to use public transportation, walk or bike, as parking on and around Main Street is limited. Visitors traveling from outside Park City can park at the Kimball Junction Transit Center and ride the free Park City Transit Express bus to the festival.
Residents can reserve their complimentary Locals Night tickets and find additional festival information through the Kimball Arts Festival website.
