PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Ski and Snowboard will host the 27th annual Springer Tournee on Saturday, July 11, at Utah Olympic Park, bringing together national and Olympic-level ski jumpers, live music and local food and drink for a family-friendly evening on the hill.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with a performance from regional act Cory Mon kicking off at 5:30 p.m. Ski jumping runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a second set from Cory Mon to close out the night. Heber Valley Brewing Company and local food trucks will be on-site, with food and drinks available for purchase.
The centerpiece of the evening is a one-of-a-kind target competition held on Utah Olympic Park’s large hill. Before each of three rounds, athletes spin a prize wheel that determines the distance they must aim for, adding an element of chance and fun to the competition.

“It shakes things up and gives it an element of chance, and it also makes it so that you might have very different winners than in a normal competition,” said Adam Loomis of Park City Ski and Snowboard.
The event draws athletes from across the country and beyond, including national team competitors, development-level jumpers and junior athletes. Loomis said nearly all of the top junior-level athletes in the nation are expected to attend this year, alongside local Park City competitors.
VIP tickets include a guided tour led by a recent Olympic ski jumper, a ride up the Nordic chairlift to the top of the jump, and a meal and drink voucher. The tour offers an up-close look at the start gate and a chance to ask questions of an Olympian. General admission tickets provide access to the outrun and stopping area at the base of the jump.

The Springer Tournee is one of several events during a busy week of training and competition at Olympic Park. Earlier in the week, athletes compete on the 100-meter hill on Thursday, Nordic combined racing takes place at Soldier Hollow on Friday morning, and a mentorship day pairs national team athletes with younger jumpers on the hill.
Proceeds from the event benefit Park City Ski and Snowboard‘s youth programs. The club counts close to 1,200 members and offers year-round programming.
“Events are important fundraisers for us,” Loomis said. “We try to keep costs accessible to all our programs while still delivering world-class programs to the kids.”
