HEBER CITY — Wasatch County celebrated the opening of its first asphalt pumptrack Friday evening at Southfield Park, capping months of community-driven planning with food trucks, live music and giveaways.

The Wasatch Pump Track, located at the northwest corner of Southfield Park at 895 W. 100 S. in Heber City, is designed for all wheels, all ages and all abilities. That includes bicycles, scooters, roller skates and wheelchairs.

The grand opening drew the community from 5 to 8 p.m., with a ribbon cutting at 6 p.m. Festivities included food trucks, an ice cream truck and giveaways, including a Specialized dirt jumper. Local band Blown Out provided live music.

The project was backed by a wide coalition of partners including the Wasatch Trails Foundation, Wasatch Community Foundation, Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce, Wasatch County Parks and Recreation, and others.
Southfield Park spans 39 acres on the west side of Heber City and connects to the Centennial Trail linking Midway and Heber City.
