SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Museum of Utah will open Saturday, June 27, with an all-day celebration that will include live music, food trucks, and activities.
“Discover Utah’s legacy through our brand-new immersive galleries and witness our state’s vibrant culture come to life,” reads the event page. “With local flavors, community festivals, and centuries of history to explore, this is more than an opening, it’s a homecoming.”
An official community ribbon-cutting will kick-off the celebrations at 9 a.m. and the museum will be open to the public until 8 p.m.
Currently, Utah’s first state history museum features four permanent galleries and one temporary gallery that focuses on the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The Museum of Utah is an extension of the Utah Historical Society and is housed inside the new North Capitol Building.
