HEBER CITY, Utah — Heber City officials are inviting residents, business owners and visitors to help shape the future of downtown as the city explores plans for a pedestrian-focused “C” Street corridor designed to become a year-round gathering space in the heart of the community.
The city will host an open house during Market on Main on Thursday, June 11, from 5 to 9 p.m., where community members can share ideas and feedback on the project. The outreach booth will be located next to the Heber City booth, north of the pavilion and restrooms.
The planning effort builds on the city’s Envision Central Heber 2050 Plan and aims to refine a long-term vision for the area that connects City Hall, Main Street, and the Trailhead Plaza.
City leaders envision the corridor as a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented destination where residents and visitors can shop, dine, and connect throughout the year while supporting existing downtown businesses and encouraging future investment.
Officials emphasize that no final vision has been selected. Instead, the current phase of the project focuses on gathering community feedback that will help transform the concept from a broad idea into an actionable plan.
Future concepts may include redevelopment opportunities, streetscape improvements, and design enhancements intended to improve accessibility and connectivity in the downtown area.
Feedback gathered through public meetings and outreach efforts will help shape conceptual revitalization plans and guide future decisions by both the city and private property owners.
Once completed, the vision plan is expected to serve as a roadmap for for the project.
The planning process is being funded through a Brownfields Grant awarded to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality and supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
