Free World Cup watch party at RSL stadium for USA v Utah’s temporary team

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The World Cup has unfolded with a uniquely Utah opportunity for fans of USA and of Real Salt Lake (RSL) upcoming on Wednesday for a wild, weird, and wonderful Wednesday watch party.

At the America First Stadium in Sandy, at 6:00 p.m., a Soccer Celebration with free admission will be hosted to watch the USA vs Bosnia and Hergovina match in San Francisco for the Round of 32.

Grab your tickets and sign up for free, here.

Join them in the entrance plaza area for big-screen viewings, food, RSL and Utah Royals player appearances, and entertainment. Fans can purchase beer and concessions at the event, and the following food trucks will be in attendance:

  • R&R BBQ
  • J-Dawgs
  • Little Caesars
  • Chile Verde
  • Off-Side Snacks

Attendees also have the option to purchase a $40 meal deal package, which includes a guaranteed seat, bottomless soda and popcorn and one meal.

Bosnia and Hergovina was assigned by FIFA to a Sandy, Utah home base for training, housing and flights. Thus this particular, serendipitous match-up will have Utah fans rooting for both teams for different reasons, at the same time.

Advancing through this elimination round into the Round of 16 would be a great achievement for USA even though they finished first in their group. Boznia and Herzegovina placed third in the group and is one of eight third-place finishers from the group stages.

All three World Cup Host Countries, Canada, Mexico, and the United States are all through to the knockouts.

Uruguay has been eliminated from the World Cup tournament along with their athlete from Real Salt Lake, called up to the World Cup.
