Park City takes center stage in new reality series ‘Unwell Games’

PARK CITY, Utah — The latest in a growing wave of Utah-based reality TV shows, “Unwell Games” uses Park City as the backdrop for a new competition series featuring well-known internet personalities facing off in mental and physical challenges.

Alex Cooper, host of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, produced the series through her Unwell Network.

“The four-episode series brings together 16 of the most polarizing figures in pop culture to compete in a series of mental and physical challenges over four days, filmed against the backdrop of a luxury chalet in Park City, Utah,” the show’s official description reads. Contestants include cast members from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’,” Bachelor Nation, Love Island USA, Dancing with the Stars, along with Instagram influencers.

The web-based series, consisting of four episodes, will debut on YouTube April 6.

Parkites got a sneak peak of the action at the Utah Olympic Park, where Cooper teamed up with Instagram influencer Adam W to shoot a segment for the show.

Under her Unwell content creation brand on YouTube, Cooper came to town back in February with contestants, cameras, and creative takes on traditional sports. The production team had a venue take over at UOP, with contestants riding inner tubes down the nordic ski jumps and attempting to stop sliding on a blue-painted target.

Two local athletes, Luke Miller and Augie Roepke, even got in the game. They ski jumped while holding briefcases filled with money that the players could win.

This isn’t the first time the UOP has been used as a backdrop for YouTube content creation – Social Media Influencer sends 2,000 golf balls off the Utah Olympic Park jump.
