PARK CITY, Utah — Run-A-Muk dog park reopened Monday following its annual spring closure.
The reopening comes after a challenging winter season for the park, which saw additional daily closures during unusually warm conditions in January and February. Muddy terrain led to “significant damage to the trails,” according to Basin Recreation, which asked visitors to avoid soft trails and limit use to morning hours, before 11 a.m.
The seasonal spring closure is designed to encourage early vegetation growth and minimize further trail damage during muddy conditions.
“After some much-needed rest and relaxation, grasses are growing and wildflowers are starting to emerge at Run-A-Muk,” Basin Recreation wrote in a social media post.
Basin Recreation also teased the upcoming opening of Willow Creek Pond, though an official date has not yet been announced.
“After an unseasonably warm and dry spring, Basin’s team has been hard at work getting everything prepped for summer—and it might just be one of the earliest pond openings we’ve seen,” the post reads.
