Park City welcomes Olympians home with Main Street parade

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City’s Main Street filled with cheers Friday evening as the community welcomed home Olympic and Paralympic athletes following the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Games.

The parade began at 5 p.m., followed by a recognition ceremony at the base of Main Street. Festivities continued into the evening with live music, photo opportunities, and autograph sessions, giving the public a chance to connect with athletes.

Park City’s Olympic contingent, often referred to as “Park City Nation”, included 57 athletes representing six countries at the 2026 Winter Games. If considered its own nation, the group would have ranked 14th in the Olympic medal standings, tied with Finland and Australia.

Athletes with ties to Utah earned a combined 14 medals at the Games, including four gold, six silver, and four bronze. Among the highlights were gold in mixed team aerials, silver in team pursuit, and standout performances from Paralympic snowboarder Noah Elliott, who brought home both gold and silver.

Additional podium finishes came from athletes including Zoe Atkin, Mac Forehand, Alex Hall, and Ashley Farquharson, underscoring Utah’s outsized presence in winter sports.

Friday’s event celebrated not only the athletes’ achievements but also Park City’s deep Olympic legacy that continues to shape preparations for the Utah 2034 Winter Games.
