Adams Fire grows to 75 acres, forces evacuations in Weber County

WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah — A wildfire burning near Washington Terrace has grown to an estimated 75 acres and is threatening structures, according to Utah Fire Info.
The agency identifies the wildfire as the Adams Fire and says multiple firefighting resources are responding. The cause remains under investigation.
Washington Terrace officials are ordering evacuations for properties along Adams Avenue in the area of 5600 South and 5700 South, extending west to 300 West, according to a city notice cited by KSL.
The city has opened the Washington Terrace Senior Center, 4601 S. 300 West, as a temporary shelter for residents who do not have another place to go.
The fire was initially estimated at 15 to 20 acres before Utah Fire Info increased the estimate to approximately 75 acres.
Riverdale officials have also closed the Riverdale trail south of the city because of firefighting operations, according to KSL.
Officials are asking the public to avoid the area and follow evacuation orders. The fire remains active, and conditions may change as crews continue responding.
