Park City riders log thousands more eco-friendly trips in Ride On campaign

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Municipal has officially wrapped up its 2025-26 Ride On campaign, designed to encourage participants to use public transportation during the busy ski season.

For four months, residents, visitors, and employees in Park City who chose sustainable travel options like walking, biking, transit, and carpooling could log trips and earn points toward cash prizes and monthly drawings. More sustainable travel modes earned travelers more points.

The top 10 riders of the Winter Ride On program have been notified and will receive cash prizes up to $450, according to the city.

Overall, 600 riders participated in the program and logged over 9,000 more sustainable trips compared to last year, according to city data. In total, that came out to 432,700 miles using alternative modes of transportation and 129 tons of CO₂ reduced.

Of the miles traveled, 41 percent were on transit, 28 percent were carpooling, and 21 percent were walking.

The city announced one more shot to become a prize winner by filling out a survey on the program.
