Bridge construction near Rockport State Park to bring lane restrictions through Fall 2026

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) begin construction on a pair of bridge near Rockport State Park this week, replacing the bridge on SR-32 over the Weber River and rehabilitating the bridge on SR-302 near the park entrance.

Work is scheduled to begin as soon as Tuesday, April 14, and is expected to wrap up by Oct. 30 this year according to UDOT.

The project includes a full replacement of the SR-32 bridge spanning the Weber River, along with deck and superstructure rehabilitation on the SR-302 bridge that serves as a primary access point to Rockport State Park. Officials say the work is intended to extend the lifespan of both structures and maintain long-term safety and reliability in the area.

Traffic impacts expected

During construction, drivers should expect lane reductions near both work zones. Traffic on affected segments of SR-32 will be reduced to one lane and controlled by temporary signals, resulting in minor delays.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down through the construction area and plan for additional travel time.

On SR-302, the bridge work will also require traffic control, and the entrance to Rockport State Park is expected to be temporarily closed for up to one month during the rehabilitation phase. UDOT said advance notice will be provided prior to that closure.
