Park City Mountain closes uphill travel until further notice

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Mountain announced Saturday, March 14, that uphill travel on the mountain is closed until further notice as snow surface crews work to keep the Homerun trail open for downhill skiers and riders.

The timing is not ideal for the resort. An extended stretch of warm weather is on the way, with temperatures expected to climb into the low 70s by midweek and reach the mid-70s by the weekend. Highs in the upper 60s and 70s are forecast from Tuesday through next Saturday, with sunny skies dominating the outlook.

The weekend itself is offering little relief, with a mix of rain and snow possible Saturday afternoon and blustery winds gusting up to 60 mph overnight, but minimal snow accumulation is expected. Temperatures will rebound into the low 50s by Monday before the warm trend takes hold.

No timeline for reopening uphill routes has been provided.
