PARK CITY, Utah — As 2025 comes to a close, the Summit County | Park City Green Business Program is marking a milestone year that reflects both growth and renewed momentum toward local sustainability goals.
After a two-year redevelopment and expansion effort, the program rolled out a redesigned website and updated certification process earlier this year, inviting businesses across Summit County to engage with a more robust, accessible platform. Since January, 13 businesses have earned Green Business certification under the revamped program.
According to program organizers, participating businesses demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and community leadership by taking measurable action across key focus areas, including energy, water, materials and waste, transportation, and community and equity.
The following businesses were recognized in 2025:
Silver certification
- Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter
- fulFILLed
- Savoury Kitchen
- Park City Library
Bronze certification
- Done to Your Taste Catering and Events
- Le Depot Brasserie
- Park City Community Foundation
- POW Therapy
- Alpine Apothecary
- Residences at the Utah Olympic Park
- Summit County Health Department
- Chesley Electric
- Basin Recreation
To earn certification, businesses select from more than 200 sustainability actions, each supported by step-by-step guidance and resources. Actions are scored based on impact and difficulty, with certification levels awarded according to total points earned.
The program’s updated online platform, launched publicly in January at Recycle Utah’s Green Drinks event, allows businesses to track progress, access tools, and benchmark their efforts. Originally founded at Recycle Utah eight years ago, the Green Business Program has since expanded through partnerships with Park City Municipal, Summit County, the Park City Community Foundation, and the Park City Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to certification, the program continued to emphasize peer learning and collaboration in 2025 through quarterly Lunch and Learn events. These sessions are designed to support business-to-business education on topics ranging from workforce wellbeing to sustainable transportation, and are free to Summit County businesses and employees.
