HEBER CITY, Utah — As winter approaches and powder enthusiasts dust off their sleds, a new community gathering aims to bring riders together for what organizers hope becomes an annual tradition.
The inaugural Utah Snowmobile & Gear Swap will kick off Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Redmond Life HQ in Heber City.
Event promoter Ryan McElmon, a professional action sports athlete from Park City known for his work in skiing, mountain biking and snowmobiling, is keeping expectations refreshingly simple for the pilot event.
“The goal is to bring the community together and ignite excitement for winter, while also giving people the chance to sell gear that might be collecting dust,” McElmon said. “We hope to make this an annual event that the community looks forward to each year.”
McElmon, who grew up in the Wasatch Mountains and built his career competing in ski contests and producing media, has long been connected to the local outdoor community. He partners with brands and supports initiatives including the Live Like Sam Foundation and the Youth Sports Alliance.
The swap welcomes everyone — from sellers to browsers to riders who just want to show off their machines.
“Even if you don’t want to sell your snowmobile, bring it and show it off,” McElmon said. “Don’t have a snowmobile? No problem — bring any winter gear you’re not using, or just come to browse and hang out. We want everyone to connect over their shared passion for the mountains.”
The event takes place at 475 W 910 S in Heber City. No registration or fees are required for the community gathering.
