Fall children’s programs at Summit County Library start Sept. 2

PARK CITY, Utah — The Summit County Library is preparing to launch its fall lineup of children’s programs, offering weekly activities for both preschoolers and elementary school students beginning the first week of September.
The schedule includes story times, music and movement sessions, and playtime for children ages 0–6, as well as after-school programs, book clubs, and enrichment activities for older children.
Programs for Ages 0–6
Book Buddies Preschool Story Time: Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 2. Designed for children four and older, the sessions include picture books, songs, puppets, and a craft. Younger siblings are welcome.
Music & Rhyme Wiggle Time: Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., starting Sept. 4. Children ages 6 months to 3 years can join in singing, dancing, and storytelling.
Library Play Time: Fridays at 10:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 5. Open play for ages 6 months to 6 years, offering opportunities for creativity and socializing.
Programs for Elementary Students
Advance registration is required for all elementary school activities. To register, parents should email knilsson@summitcountyutah.gov with their child’s name, grade and any allergies.
Afterschool Kid’s Yoga: Fridays at 1 p.m., starting Sept. 5. Free weekly yoga sessions led by a certified instructor. Children are encouraged to bring a mat; a limited number will be available on site.
I Survived Book Club: Monthly meetings for students in grades 4–6. The series begins Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. with I Survived the Attacks of September 11, 2001. Future sessions include I Survived the Great Chicago Fire, 1871 on Oct. 9 and I Survived the Nazi Invasion, 1944 on Nov. 13. Copies are available at the front desk.
Parent/Child Flashlight Reader’s Book Club: Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Parents and children in grades 4–6 will discuss Katherine Marsh’s The Myth of Monsters: Medusa. Participants are encouraged to bring book-themed snacks to share.
Elementary Brain Builders: A new monthly program beginning Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. for grades 1–3. Activities will include arts and crafts, cooking, STEM projects and seasonal events. Future meetings are scheduled for Oct. 23 and Dec. 11.
