Police log: Intoxication, underage drinking, and criminal mischief

Sunday, March 9

Incident: Animal Problem. Bonanza Dr. A large cow moose was observed running in the Wells Fargo parking lot towards SR-248. She was herded off the roadway and last seen running through Prospector.

Incident: Criminal Mischief. Lowell Ave. 5 or 6 males were drinking beers and throwing snowballs at the reporting party’s home. The group stated they were going to break the caller’s window.

Monday, March 10

Incident: Vagrancy Swede Alley, Transit Center. Two white males and one black female were asleep on the benches at the
Transit Center and have been there for hours. The complaining party (CP) stated they were homeless.

Incident: Intoxication Swede Alley, Transit Center. A white male with long hair in a pony, wearing a blue button-up shirt, tan pants, and a baseball cap, was yelling profanities. CP stated that he was heavily intoxicated.

Incident: Disturbing the Peace. Lowell Ave. CP stated that there was a loud party going on. Even with noise canceling
headphones caller could still hear them and stated that he is unsure how many people are among the group.

Thursday, March 13

Incident: DUI. An attempt to locate was aired for a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of SR40. Deputies located the vehicle and it was stopped safely near the I-80 Junction. The male driving the vehicle displayed signs of impairment and performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody for DUI and a search incident to arrest was performed. During the search, a waxy substance that later tested positive for THC was found on the male’s person. The male was ultimately transported to the Summit County Jail and booked in on charges of DUI and possession of marijuana.

Incident: Drugs. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a driver’s license violation. After a K9 deployment, a search of the vehicle was conducted and drug paraphernalia was located. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Summit County Jail.

Incident: Wildlife Problem. On E Richardson Flat Rd., 100 head of elk were trying to cross from the Richardson Flat side to Round Valley.

Friday, March 14

Incident: Disorderly Conduct on Iron Horse Dr. A female customer with a dog refusing to leave. PCPD reports that she was yelling at the cashier manager for not accepting a return.

Incident: Business Assist. Lowell Ave; PCMR skier crossed the line into avalanche territory.

Incident: DUI. Snow Creek Dr.; Zions Bank. 3rd party caller informed police that car hit a tree; unknown if injuries; vehicle: gray 4-door car.

Saturday, March 15

Incident: Assault. Deputies responded to an assault in progress at the Slopeside Village Apartments. A predominant aggressor was identified through video footage and witness statements. This individual was arrested for assault, property damage, threatening, and intoxication and was transported to the Summit County Jail without incident.
Incident: Alcohol Offense. Deputies responded to a report of a large underage drinking party at Maple Drive in Silver Creek. Upon arrival of the Deputies, many juveniles were seen running from the residence. Deputies were able to confirm that alcohol was involved. Deputies discovered that the homeowner was in fact present at the residence and was aware that a party was taking place. After consulting with the on-call County Attorney, the homeowner was taken into custody for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and transported to jail.

Sunday, March 16

Search & Rescue: SAR assisted with a medical at 8341 E Weber Canyon Rd. A snowmobiler had a possible spinal fracture. SAR assisted with patient transport to the AirMed, which had landed on scene.
Incident: Warrant of Arrest. Deputies responded to the Summit County Sheriff’s office for an individual who wanted to turn himself in. The individual had a warrant out of Summit County District Court for 3 Third Degree Felony’s. The individual was taken into custody and booked into the Summit County Jail Without incident.
